Style // My Wood Watch Wardrobe Staple

Oh hey there! I know, long time no blog, huh?

I feel like as soon as fall hits, time seriously goes by even faster than normal and I can't believe it's been two weeks since my last post! (Whoops!) If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I was recently in Michigan visiting family; while it was a great trip, it always takes a little time to get settled back into a normal routine once we're home. Not to mention that Henry is teething (ugh) and has decided he hates sleeping all of the sudden...but I'll have more on that in his 10 month update :)

These photos were taken back at the end of the summer and I feel like Henry has changed so much already! This is not the most flattering picture of either of us, but his face here cracks me up so I had to include it :)
Today I'm super excited to share with you guys an awesome addition to my wardrobe that I've been loving lately - my JORD wood watch!

You may have noticed me wearing this watch in many of my Instagram photos over the past few months, but I wanted to share some more in-depth details about why I love it as well as share an awesome discount code for all of you!

To give you a little background, earlier this summer I decided to majorly clean out my closet after being inspired by reading this book. I decided that I wanted to try doing a sort of "capsule wardrobe" and really limit the number of pieces in my closet to classic staples that could easily be mixed and matched, and more importantly, were things that made me feel pulled together but were also functional for taking care of a baby. Multiple variations of a (cute) "mom uniform" if you will :)

I really liked the result of doing this and it's helped me realize just how important quality over quantity is when it comes to my wardrobe, and this includes things like my shoes and accessories as well. I was never a huge jewelry person to begin with, but I'll admit that I'm guilty of having tons of inexpensive trendy jewelry that I bought on a whim and never wear. Paring down my clothes made me realize that I really want accessories that are both classic in style and also well-made that will hold up to the wear and tear of being home with Henry all day. Enter JORD!

I first started hearing about JORD wood watches on other blogs and through social media, so when they reached out to me to see if I'd be interested in checking out one of their watches, I was very interested. I thought the idea of a watch made out of wood was really unique and it totally fits with the vibe of the Pacific Northwest, which I love. Plus, I liked that it would be a versatile piece to pair with other jewelry, as well as a variety of outfits.

I selected the Fieldcrest Watch in Maple because I liked the simplicity of the design as well as the fact that it was a little bit larger in size. The watch came in a super cute wood box and because I submitted my wrist measurement when I placed the order, it was already sized perfectly to me. I love how it adds a sort of casual cool vibe to any outfit I wear it with and I've literally been wearing it nonstop since it came in the mail.

The real test for me though was how would it hold up with Henry...and I'm happy to report that it still looks just as good now as when I first got it months ago! The wood is surprisingly durable and even though Henry is constantly grabbing at it, there are no signs of wear and tear, which is really saying something. So two big thumbs up from this mama!

I seriously get compliments on this watch whenever I wear it, which is pretty much all the time these days. I'm excited to pair it with my fall outfits as the weather continues to cool off as I know it will be the perfect complement to things like sweaters and scarves! (Speaking of which, I may try to do a post on transitioning my summer capsule wardrobe to fall, so stay tuned for that...) If you're in the market for a watch this fall (or maybe you want to get a jump on your holiday shopping!) then definitely check out JORD because they have a ton of different styles for both men and women. Plus, they're offering my readers a 10% off discount code for the next two weeks, just use the code "inthepinkandgreen" at checkout!
