My Makeup Obsessions // NYX Butter Glosses

Happy Monday everyone! I've got another makeup post coming your way...

When I find a product I like, particularly if it's affordable, I like to buy it in  multiples.
I did that with the Revlon Lip Crayons, and recently, I've been obsessed with another fun (and inexpensive!) lip product - NYX Butter Glosses!

I was actually not very familiar with NYX as a brand until I started hearing people praise their products on YouTube, and these Butter Glosses in particular. It's a beauty brand that offers a wide variety of products, many similar to higher-end lines, at a drugstore price point. However, while NYX makeup is available at some drugstores, it's also available other places like Target and Ulta, along with some more random spots like Nordstrom Rack and Urban Outfitters on occassion.

I actually picked up my first few Butter Glosses at Urban Outfitters in NYC when I was there visiting my sister earlier this year. They had packs of three shades available for only $10! Since then, I've added to my collection little by little. These glosses are usually about $5 each, however, I've seen them on sale at Ulta for even less. But despite the low price, they are really a fantastic gloss! There is a wide range of colors and they go on really smooth, not sticky like some lipglosses. They are quite pigmented, but the lighter shades seem to be more sheer whereas the brighter shades offer a lot more color payoff. They're great on their own, but also perfect to layer over another lipstick as well.

The names are all dessert inspired, however, the fragrance doesn't really correspond to the name, as they all just have the same scent which is very sweet and smells delicious. Also, the colors of the glosses don't necessarily match that closely with desserts they're named for, just FYI. I have been really loving a nude lip this spring, so that's why I have so many of those shades...but I really love the brighter colors too! If I had to pick a favorite out of my current collection, I'd probably have to go with Peaches and Cream - it's the perfect bright pink coral for spring!

Here are my swatches of the ones that I have:

If you're looking for a great lipgloss, I'd highly recommend the Butter Glosses!
(NYX also has a Butter Lipstick, but I didn't care for the formula as much personally - I'm definitely going to be sticking to the Butter Glosses for now!) They're absolutely perfect for throwing in your purse and you can't beat the price for the quality!

*FYI - This is NOT a sponsored post, I just really love this product and wanted to share!*

  11. NYX is amazing. If you love these butter glosses they just came out with butter lipstick that are crazy good too. I also love their matte lipstick and lipliners. The liners are just a creamy and long wearing as MAC but you can afford to have one to match every lipstick at 4.00 a pop!
