Hello NYC

{source}
Good morning from NYC!

I took the red-eye here from Portland last night and I'm SO excited for a long weekend in one my favorite places in the whole world. I actually haven't been to New York City since Labor Day weekend in 2012, so I am way overdue for a visit. (Also, I'm kind of crying over how much more tan/in good shape I was back then compared to now...wahhhh) I'm really looking forward to spending time with sister and celebrating her birthday this weekend, I know it's going to be a great time! Granted, it is supposed to be freezing cold and snowy all weekend but ironically, we are having the same weather in Portland right now too, so it's fine. (Of course, after I posted these pictures yesterday and went on about how awesome Oregon winters are, Portland got some snow. Figures. Everyone was making a huge fuss about it because it doesn't happen too often though!) The first time I ever visited NYC was on a bitterly cold weekend in January back when I was 18, and I still fell in love with the city despite the weather. So here's to hoping that everything looks all pretty in the snow and that I don't freeze to death. Ha.

I know my sister already has a fair amount on the agenda for the next couple of days, however, if anyone has suggestions on things to see/do (ok, who am I kidding...on things to eat...obviously) then please let me know! I've gotten so many great recommendations from you guys, so leave me a comment or shoot me an email if there is anywhere delicious that I need to check out during my visit! Also, feel free to keep up with me on Instagram this weekend (@inthepinkandgreen) as I'm sure I'll be posting an obnoxious amount of photos over the next few days.

Have a great weekend everyone!

PS: I thought about titling this post "Hello Lover" but I'm not sure if everyone would catch the SATC reference and that they just might think it was super weird instead. Ha.

  3. NYC must be so pretty in the snow!!! I haven't been there since I was really little. I'm not sure exactly what kind of weather we're going to get - I've heard everything from rain, to a little snow, or a lot of snow! Be safe and enjoy your sisters bday weekend! Happy Friday!!! =)

  4. Check out a restaurant on the Upper West Side called Celeste. Small, cozy, authentic Italian food. After you can go down a block to Cafe Lalo for dessert.

  11. We're in Oregon City and traveling up the East Coast over the course of 2 weeks this summer, from FL to Portland Maine. We plan to spend a few days in NYC. Do you have a post, or would you be willing to share your absolute favorite places in a post? I've been twice but both times were with a school trip. I'm excited to venture out with my husband and daughter, but I'm slightly overwhelmed on what 'must see' and 'must eat' places we should go to
