Enjoy the Moment.

With Thanksgiving being so late this year, I feel like everyone is struggling to try to fit holiday activities into a somewhat condensed time frame. And because we have even more limited time since we're leaving for vacation on Saturday, I really feel like the Christmas season has just flown by.

On top of all that, this is a very busy time in Cameron's family for birthdays! There are a bunch of birthdays in late November/throughout December (including mine!) and so typically we try to celebrate them all together, but with busy schedules it can be a challenge to find a time that works for everyone. However, we were all able to make it happen this Saturday at Cam's parents' house and it was really fun for everyone spend time together! Cam and I have three nieces (ages 6, 3, and 1) and one nephew (age 1) and so one of the best things about living in Oregon so far has been getting to see them all more often. It's just crazy how fast kids grow, and even though we do see them more frequently now than we did when we lived out of state, it's always really exciting to see how much they've changed and the new things they've learned even in the span of a few weeks since last time we've seen them.

I wished I would have take more pictures of everyone on Saturday, but with all the kids running around sometimes staged pictures just don't happen! However, I did snap a few photos and I wanted to share them as I'm sure I'll be looking back at this post next year and marveling on how much bigger all these kiddos are. The years really do go by so fast, so it's nice to just slow down and try to enjoy them!

Cameron and I decided not to get a tree this year (tear!) since we're leaving for our trip Saturday (yay!) so I'm glad we've been able to spend some time by the tree, both at my parents' house and at his parents' house. Time with family is really what the holidays are all about!

  5. Ohmygoodness this holiday season has really just blown by us! We've been busy every single weekend, no time to breathe & just enjoy it, yet... I can't believe that you guys leave this weekend for your trip!!! I also just realized that I didn't get back to you with recommendations from my cousin and friend that went to Thailand... Here are a few, hope it's not too late! My cousin said that Chiang Mai was TOTALLY worth it & her favorite part of the trip. My friend said that she took a cooking class from "Cooking with Poo" - sounds totally gross (haha) but she said it was an amazing experience! I hope you and Cam have the BEST time! :)
