Feast Portland

Happy Monday everyone!
This weekend seriously seemed to fly by and now my Monday seems to be doing the same thing
(Hence why this post is going up right now instead of this morning...)

Anyway, today I wanted to talk to you about an awesome event coming up next month here in Portland that I couldn't be more excited about!

As I've mentioned on my blog before, Portland is really a foodie paradise and it has such an amazing restaurant scene. Because food is a personal passion of mine, I'm always on the lookout for cool events to participate in or opportunities to get plugged in to the great community of other foodies in the area. I heard about an event called Feast Portland on Twitter, and after reviewing the website I immediately marked my calendar because I knew I wanted to attend!

Feast Portland is an four-day food and drink festival presented by Bon Appetit magazine taking place right here in downtown Portland from September 19th-22nd. The event is going to showcase some exciting things taking place in the American food scene today and involves a ton of nationally-acclaimed chefs, along with some pretty high-profile sponsors. Portland is such a perfect place to have an event like this because not only is it home to a huge amount of culinary talent who are doing awesome things with food, but there's also such an abundance of great ingredients here as well. The four-day event will include a wide variety of events in multiple locations around the city including classes, tasting panels, dinner/brunch events, speakers, and more. Most events do have a cost to attend and require tickets, but there are also some free events to attend as well. And most importantly, the whole mission behind the event is to raise money and awareness for childhood hunger, both here in Oregon and the US, which I think is a really fantastic cause.

So why I am telling you this?
(Great question!)

A few reasons...
1. Feast Portland kicks off a month from today on September 19th, and tickets for the various events are going fast! If this event sounds like something you're interested in attending, I highly suggest checking out the Feast Portland website ASAP. You can find information about the different events (there are a ton to choose from!) and purchase tickets before they sell out.

2. I was fortunate enough to receive a Blogger Pass to attend Feast Portland, and will be attending (and blogging about) multiple events over the course of the weekend. In the spirit of full disclosure, this means that I am receiving complimentary admission to these events; however, I can wholeheartedly say that this festival is something I was planning on attending prior to receiving to receiving the Blogger Pass. Because let's be honest, and event that involves amazing food, celebrity chefs, and is for a good cause? Definitely right up my alley! My Blogger Pass also means that I'll have the chance to get some additional inside information leading up to the event that I'll be sharing over the next few weeks and I wanted to give you all a heads up on what the fuss was all about!

That's all for me today, I hope everyone is having a great start to their week so far!
