Happy Friday everyone!
Another week has flown by it seems, but I am SO happy the weekend is here. The forecast the next few days for Tahoe is in the 60's and sunny, so I'm looking forward to spending some time outside! Even though it's not super warm here yet, the blue skies and sunshine lately have me really excited for spring (and summer!) As pretty as the winter here in Tahoe can be, the summer is incredible and I can't wait for the temps to continue to warm up.
So before another weekend begins, I thought I'd share a few photos from this past weekend. Last Sunday, Cameron and I took Lola for a walk on a nearby yet new-to-us trail around Spooner Lake (pictured above) and it ended up being a beautiful (albeit windy!) afternoon.
There are lots of trails in the Spooner Lake area, but we just did the Spooner Lake Trail which is an easy 2.1 mile stroll around the perimeter of the lake.
Nevada's #1 Resident
Even if she does have to be on a leash!
The trail is really flat and well marked, so it would be a great place to go for a run!
The wind was blowing like crazy so there were lots of waves!
There were quite a few stands of aspens, so it would definitely be a beautiful place to come back in walk in the fall as well when the leaves are changing.
Along the trail, there are signs every so often that provide information about the history of the area along with the wildlife, so it would also be a fun trail for families.
The sky just feels bigger somehow in the West :)
One our way back from Spooner Lake, we stopped off at the boat launch near Cave Rock to check out the waves on Lake Tahoe. I've said it before (and I'll say it again) but this lake is seriously the definition of blue--we've lived here for over a year and I still can't get over how breathtaking (and clear!) it is each time I see it!

It was cool watching all the waves crashing into shore
This is what springtime in Tahoe looks like :)
(Yes, I realize that I took about 50 variations of the same photo, but they don't even do justice to how gorgeous it is in person!)
After our hanging out by the lake for a bit, we ended up randomly stopping at the Zephyr Cove Lodge for a late lunch. We drive by this place all the time, but had never stopped in to check it out. There are a bunch of cabins on the property that tourists can rent out, and then the lodge has rooms for rent as well. There's a little store and a restaurant, and it's also right near the dock to get on the MS Dixie paddlewheeler (which we rode last summer) that cruises around the lake. The lodge restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner--although the restaurant is really nothing special, the food was fairly decent and there are some pretty views of the lake! Definitely a cute little place to stop :)
But lest you think that life in Tahoe is all sunshine, on Tuesday we woke up to this:
Lola was confused, as usual
But by Wednesday, it was back to this so I really can't complain :)
Have a wonderful weekend! Xoxo
