My Summer To-Do List!

Happy Monday everyone!

Hopefully you have the day off and are out soaking up the sunshine, having a 3 day weekend is the best! Cam and I have been having a fabulous time in Chicago (our flight leaves later this afternoon), and I'm looking forward to telling you all about it later this week. But since this weekend is sort of the unofficial kick-off to summer, I thought I'd share what I've got on my summer to-do list! It's basically a list of fun things that I'd like to do between now and Labor Day...enjoy!

Summer 2012
-Read at least 10 books (I have majorly been slacking on reading!)
-Go golfing (I've only ever gone once!)
-Take the gondola at Heavenly up to the observation deck and have a picnic
-Hike Mt. Tallac
-Try standup paddle boarding (really excited to do this!)
-Go to Carmel/Monterrey/Big Sur
-Go to the Redwoods
-Go to back Yosemite National Park and hike Half Dome
-Go back to Napa/Sonoma
-Go back to San Fran and visit Alcatraz
-Celebrate 3 years of marriage to my wonderful husband! :)
-Get a new grill for our deck (Cam won grill in a raffle at work last week, how awesome is that?!)
-Barbeque at least one night a week
-Go to a blogger meet-up (I've got one on the calendar for next weekend!)
-Take a boat cruise on Lake Tahoe
-Go to the Celebrity Golf Tournament here in Tahoe
-Rent kayaks and take them on the lake
-Get a bike...and actually use it
-Run a 5K
-Start training for a half marathon
-Find an organization to volunteer with here in Lake Tahoe
-Go to Chicago (I think we can cross this off since I'm here right now!)
-Go to Michigan for 4th of July
-Go to Crater Lake National Park
-Stay consistent with doing yoga and continue to work on improving my flexibility/strength
-Continue eating Paleo (I love the way I've felt the past few months giving my body the healthy fuel it needs instead of junk so I want to continue!)
-Use my ice cream maker at least 3 times (although I love eating Paleo, I can't resist indulging in the occassional ice cream treat, especially if it's homemade!)
-Go to Bend, OR
-Go to South Carolina for a visit
-Make homemade popsicles
-Go to at least 3 Farmer's Markets
-Go camping and make s'mores (one of my favorite summer treats!)
-Relax and just enjoy living in Tahoe! :)

I'm sure I'll add more things as summer progresses, but I think that this list is a good start for now! I'm looking forward to a healthy, happy, and fun-filled summer! Enjoy the rest of this holiday weekend friends! Xoxo

PS: What's on your summer to-do list? I'd love to hear!

  1. I love this list because most of this stuff is near me! Alcatraz is my FAVORITE thing to do in the City and Big Sur is on our list as well. And if you go to Sonoma try to eat at the Girl and the Fig--so good!

  2. Love your list!!

Love that you might be in MI for 4th of July and we are deciding between traverse city or DC. haha

  3. These all look great! I definitely need to keep up with my Yoga practice. I have slacked sooo much over the Spring.

And I love Smores! That is always a fun thing to do :)

Hope you have a great week!

  4. Can't wait for the recap of your weekend in Chicago! It's one of my favorite cities in the US!!

My summer to-do list includes: getting more fit, eating healthy, enjoying my downtime to the fullest, attending social events for blogging (several on the calendar) and to save up some shopping money for our September trip to San Fran. :)

Mendi @ Her Late Night Cravings

  5. What a great list!! I have some of the sames things on mine...including a 5k! Eeeek! It's my first ever and I'm nervous and excited all at the same time!

Can't wait to hear about your recap!

  6. That looks like a great list!
Crater Lake is a must!! It is absolutely gorgeous. Make sure you take the trail down to the water. You can jump in (its freezing though) and/or dip your feet in the water.

YAY for MI on the 4th! We will actually be in the same state haha

  7. Boat is in the water so we can help you check off the lake cruise!! ;)

Your sweet words make my day! :)
