A Day at the Beach

Hello lovelies!

Thank you so much for your sweet words on yesterday's post! I truly appreciate it. I'm feeling much more positive today, I think I just needed to vent yesterday. I think my friend Wendi hit the nail on the head with where I'm at, since I tend to be an extremely positive person by nature, sometimes I almost feel like it's not ok for me to not be happy. Sometimes I just need to realize it's alright if I have a bad day or I don't just love everything right from the start, that's normal. Yesterday, I worked hard on the apartment and now it finally feels clean and (somewhat) organized, so that made me feel much better. There are definitely still some decorating things that I want to finish up, but I'm excited about the progress we've made so far, and I can't wait to show you soon! I have no doubt that living in Tahoe is going to be a great adventure, and it means a lot that you're all on this journey with me.

Anyway, I know I mentioned yesterday that I had some photos to share with you, but I ended up running out of time to put them up yesterday. Whoops. But better late than never! When Cameron and I were in Oregon over Christmas break, we took a little day trip to a lovely town on the coast called Cannon Beach. I had been here once before in the summer, but I forgot just how charming it is. Even though it was cold, it was so much fun to walk on the beach and Lola even got to experience the ocean for the first time! She didn't really get the whole concept of the tide; she'd venture out towards the water and dip her toes in, and then all of the sudden a wave would come in and she'd run for her life away from it.

Hilarious.

We also stopped for lunch at a place called The Lumberyard, and if you're ever in Cannon Beach, I'd highly recommend it. Cam and I actually ate here the about 3 years ago, and at the time, we didn't get dessert but I remembered that they had some awesome s'mores skillet dessert. This trip, I made sure to order it...along with some amazing skillet cornbread and local seafood chowder, and it was all delicious.

Happy Jane
Cannon Beach is only about an hour and a half from Portland, so if you're ever visiting, I'd highly suggest a trip. I've been wanting to share these photos since before Christmas, so I'm glad I finally got around to it!

Well that's all for me, I'm off to Arizona for the weekend! I can't wait to see my friends and have some fun in the sun. I've never been to Arizona before, so I'm also excited to add another state to my list. I'm sure I'll have lots of photos to share when I get back next week! Until then, have a wonderful weekend! Xoxo

  8. Hi, I just found your blog today (new follower) and couldn't help but comment on this post. I was in Oregon for Christmas also and we spent two days in Cannon Beach. It was freezing but we loved it! Can I go back now and try Lumberyard?
