Fall Foliage Fotos

So in case you missed the theme in my post titles this week, I'm focusing on fall...because it's pretty much the best season ever and I thought it deserved it's very own week here at ITP&G. (Also, I'm a huge fan of alliteration...hence today's title...) One of my absolute favorite things about this time of the year is the colorful changing leaves. Growing up in Michigan, fall was always gorgeous. The wide variety of hardwood trees meant that there was always a vibrant variety of yellow, orange, and red leaves. When we moved out of Michigan last year (so crazy, it seems like forever since we've lived there!) and relocated to South Carolina, the change of seasons wasn't quite so dramatic...because fall there still basically feels like summer. However, last fall we did drive up to North Carolina and got to experience just how beautiful the Blue Ridge Parkway is when the leaves are changing. So basically fall in Colorado had a lot to live up to, and this past weekend it delivered big time. Sunday morning, we drove up to Rocky Mountain National Park with my friends, Mike and Katie, who were visiting from out of town. We were blessed with an awesome sunny day to do our 7 mile hike (similar to the hike I took my parents on a few weeks ago, but we did a little bit longer loop instead of an out-and-back route). The changing aspens were so breathtaking against the blue sky, and it was great to just soak up all the amazing natural beauty of fall in the Rockies with my husband and great friends.

These next few don't have any fall color, but they're still pretty :)

I'm so grateful that we're getting the opportunity to live in such an amazing part of the country right now, and even though it's been a few months, I still haven't gotten over the awe of driving around and seeing the mountains spread out in front of me. I know that our time in Colorado, like fall, is only a season, but I'm enjoying both while they last.

I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it! Seriously, mountains and fall leaves make me jump for joy :)
