Bethenny Ever After

Last night was the season two finale of Bethenny Getting Married. I watch a lot of the different shows on Bravo, but I'd say that this is my favorite out of all of them. Bethenny Frankel has such a big personality, and she's just very dynamic and engaging to watch. She was my favorite when she was on Real Housewives of New York, and I always kind of felt bad for her because she seemed like she was with guys that just were stringing her along. Enter Jason Hoppy. Seriously, how can anyone not love him? He seems like the nicest person on the planet, and I mean he has to be to put up with her because she's definitely a lot to take! I think they make such a cute couple, and while I know that reality isn't really all that real, they seem like they do genuinely love each other. And how cute is baby Bryn? She seems like such a happy baby, and it's really touching to see how much Bethenny and Jason love her. The show follows their family around and shows the craziness that is their life, but for some reason it's really fascinating and funny. Last season was focused on Bethenny planning her wedding and pregancy. Season two was all about her new life as a mom and juggling all the different projects she has on her plate, particularly her Skinnygirl Margarita brand. I do think that she is a smart business woman and obviously knows how to build a brand. I thought this season was really inspiring because it really showed how she took this one idea of the Skinnygirl Margarita and grew it into a multi-million dollar business by not doubting herself, even when others did. I loved the episode where her and Jason went to the bottling factory; I think I actually teared up a little bit because it was really incredible just how fast this product has taken off and to actually see what she's built. Another big challenge this season focused on has been Bethenny adjusting to her in-laws; in the beginning of the season, she was freaking out because she thought Jason wanted to spend too much time with them. At first, I was like WTF Bethenny? Here is this super nice family that just wants you to be a part of them and to see their granddaughter and you're making such a big deal about it like it's a bad thing. But I guess it's a little hard for me to understand where she's coming from because my family is a lot like Jason's, very loving and a big part of each other's lives. Over the course of the season, I think Bethenny really grew and realized that this wasn't something she needed to resist, but rather it was a good thing to let them in. I thought it was really heartwarming to see her with his parents after her speaking tour, they were so sweet and told her how proud they are of her, and she really seemed like she has started to let her guard down and accept that love. The season ended with Bethenny getting a big offer to sell Skinnygirl Cocktails, which is a huge milestone for her business. Now that she's accomplished that and can move on to other projects, I'm looking foward to see what she does next. She seems like she is much more open to having a second baby, so hopefully we'll find out in season three!

  1. I just started watching the Real Housewives last year. So far my fave is Beverly Hills, least fave was Miami.... But I think I really need to catch up and start watching this show too because I've heard a lot about Bethany. I really want to try her Skinnygirl Margarita.

    Nice post
